FIRE DANGER AND APPROPRIATE CONTROLS

The potential for a catastrophic fire at SBC is always present. The camping sessions are is usually during driest part of the fire season. Its proximity to the national forest and its camping facilities make the fire danger an ongoing force to watch for.

The Plumas National Forest is very vigilant about fires in the national forest, and our camp ground is a part of that forest. If they feel that that we are not following proper fire safety, they can shut us down. Even minor fires can cause the Forest Service to relieve us of our privileges at the camp grounds forever.

You can help by strictly enforcing the NO SMOKING policy
