awesome.......man i love that place.....      R. Lewis - Roseville 6/05
It's a place to meet my family and my church family -some of which  I only see once a year...       M. Evans - Alta Mesa 7/05
SBC will always hold a special place in my heart. I met my husband Brett there while I was recruiting for York College. Now our kids are campers and we are seeing the value of the fellowship and relationships being built all over again.      B. Crummer - Alta Mesa 7/05
Camp is such a wonderful experience for kids and adults alike. I enjoy taking my children to camp and we love to help out with camp opening and closing. I can't imagine life without SBC. It holds so many dear memories for so many people.      J. Lacefield - Citrus Heights/Roseville 8/05
Sierra Bible Camp holds rich memories for me. I directed, as I recall, the first Teen (teens only) Camp at Sierra. Those were three great years: 1970, 1971, 1972. Regards to all who were campers or staff during those great experiences.      J. Townsend - Fairfield (1968-1972)
When Pat and I discovered SBC in 1967 we were so happy to be working with such wonderful people who were committed to working for the Lord. Since that summer SBC has been an important part of our family life. It is a special time, because young people use this opportunity to be missionaries to friends who normally do not attend church. God has blessed us so richly, by allowing us to be there. Walter & Pat Evans - Alta Mesa 4/06
God has truly blessed us all with the SBC!
I've attended twice and have discovered that life can be fulfilling and rewarding without Malls and Theatres, television and stereos! without computers and big screens...fast food and worldly entertainment!
Spending a week with the kids/teens is such a thrill, I've learned so much from them while sharing my testimony and connecting with them individually and collectively, life is how it should be while at camp! selfless, caring and most of all, about God and our savior!
This summer I'm bringing my wife and two children, and I'm anticipating the best summer yet! not just for me but the campers as well! I usually participate at campfire and speak at chapel, after my near death experience last year, nearly losing my life to wreck less driving on my motorcycle I hope to share with the campers how life here on earth is so precious and must be spent wisely and productively...I also hope to meet other counselors and have great memories and friendships that will last a lifetime!
Thank you SBC for being a glimpse of heaven and a oasis in this all so complicated and hurried society we call life!

May God continue to bless us with his love and mercy forever and ever.....Amen

Sierra Bible Camp is one of the best things I have ever had the privilege of experiencing. If it ever got cancelled and torn down, I don't know what I'd do. Its been a huge part of my life and I hope that you get the chance to experience the joy of nature and God's awesome power at work in you. That and you get to play slaughter-ball, lol! Ahhhh... Good times!

SBC is such a cool place. I've been going since I was six years-old. I love it up there. I have so many memories up at camp (the good ones & the bad). You can/will make so many friends. It's just so awesome. Sarah - Roseville C.O.C. 6/06

I attended SBC back in the late seventies and had what could only be called a "spiritual high". It was truly amazing for teenage boys to drop the "I'm too cool" facade and just be open, honest, and real with each other. I strayed from the church for many years after that and was completely lost in the world. The spiritual highs I had experienced at SBC were replaced by substance abuse ones. Still, I never forgot about the former.

When I finally had reached the bottom in my life, and God had my full attention, I turned back to what I had ran from for years. After more than a dozen years away I returned to the Fairfield church of Christ and was embraced and welcomed home. I went to SBC in 1994 and the feelings I had as a teen came rushing back. I now share the wonderful camp experience with my wife and daughter and I thank God for blessing us with it.

Some of the fondest memories I have of my life are of the short time I spent at Sierra Bible camp every summer when I was a kid. It has been a while since I have visited, or have gone to church on that matter, but I just wanted to express the positive impact this place has had on my life. It was 1992 when I was last at the camp. I started going when I was 9 and I was 16 the last year I was there - to top it off I was even "camp king!" I just turned 29 on November 12 and from time to time I think of the good times I had there. The nostalgia grips my heart like a vice and I thank God for giving me the honor of being a part of the camp's history. Parents, if you are thinking about sending your kids don't hesitate! It will be an experience your kids will not forget.

with love,

I attended two encampments at Yosemite as a teenager while I attended the Lassen Street church of Christ in Vallejo. Prior to attending SBC, I thought nothing could compare to being in "God's country" at Yosemite...I still remember the goosebumps that I had all over when we sang as a huge group at the Bible bowl. Well, those were awesome encampments back then, but the fondest memories I have is sharing the SBC experience with my two daughters. We have attended as a family for several years, enriching our lives in God's great outdoor arena and sharing experiences with our brothers and sisters in Christ. My teenage girls SO looked forward to our yearly family encampment week and I am very saddened that Fairfield has been taken out of the rotation. I can only hope that Fairfield will be back "in" very soon.  Kerrie Cameron- Fairfield Church of Christ - 12/06
SBC changed my life. I wouldn't be as close as I am with my sister, or be in the spiritual walk I am in with God, if it wasn't for the summers spent at SBC!
I live for camp, it is where my true family and friends are.

I "grew up" (spiritually) at Sierra. I was a camper there from 1957 to 1962 then I began working as a "junior counselor." The best summer of my life was the year between my freshman and sophomore years in college when I got to be at Sierra all summer as a recruiter (admissions representative) for Columbia Christian College. I have so many precious memories of my summers there and the people who shaped me spiritually. I now have the privilege of helping at another Christian camp in the Pacific Northwest (Camp Yamhill) as part of the staff for the 3rd & 4th graders each summer. I've been doing that since 1989 and hope to continue as long as I'm physically able.

Bible camp is an important part of a child's faith development and I hope Sierra continues to provide that opportunity for generations to come.
With much love and gratitude to those who made it possible, Bonnie (Hartmann) Miller

Less than a month after I moved to California in 1983, my parents allowed me to go to SBC. I was 10 years old. I attended pre-teen camp for three years and then when I turned 13, I began staying two weeks (as a Jr. counselor for pre-teen week and a camper for teen week.) In 1986, my family moved to Southern California while I was at camp, but the next year, I still flew back north to go to camp. Then, I was devistated when in the fall of 1987 my family moved to Tennessee and then a few years later to Kentucky. Yet, they allowed me to fly back every summer to go to camp. They made arrangements for me to go to camp when we couldn't afford it and when it inconvenienced summer vacation plans. I forfeited many high scool activities because they interfered with camp.....and I would not miss camp. I remember the heartsick feeling I had every last Saturday morning of camp when we packed to go home. It never got easier. I credit Sierra Bible camp as being the place where my faith developed more deeply than any other time or place in my life. The lessons I learned and the fellowship I shared at SBC laid the foundation for the person I am today. It's been 17 years since I was there last and my heart still longs for it more than anyplace in the world. I still maintain friendships with the people I met there 25 years ago. My kids are growing up and last year was my son's first year at camp. And, even though it was 2,000 miles from my beloved SBC, I listened as he cried the whole way home not wanting to leave and I knew exactly how he felt. Thank you, God, for the men and women who had the vision of what SBC could be and made it reality. Dana  -Martinez - attended SBC 16 sessions from 1983-1991

Oh my Dan McQ.!!! I love camp it is such a wonderful experience I just got back (16-23 of 2007) and I made a lot of new friends. I love camp so much just because it has a lot of memories. well this past week my life has changed after meeting my newest friend Joseph a.k.a. BUG. I've been going since I was 2 or 3 but camp means a lot to me it has so many memories but the biggest memory for me and many other people is  Grandpa George. and if your out in the ball diamond or any where you have to be quiet because you can hear Grandpa George talking to you in the wind. camp is so cool because its fun and amazing to see people be baptized. this past week we hade a lot of baptisms there was at least 7 and the people who got baptized are: Michele Justin, Cary, Ren, Ryan Spencer, Emily lacefiled and Danal. they all came to Roseville session. camp is just a real lot of fun so I hope if your reading this and you have never gone to camp before me and many people suggest you should come

O man i miss camp so much, I've only been back a week.

who votes for 10 day sessions?

I say when we are able to purchase the camp from the state, we built more cabins, Combine sessions and go for 2 weeks... now that's an idea.

but any way, enough rambling.

Thank you, to all those on the board, and those responsible for making each individual session what they are. We really are blessed to share Christ's church with you.

I love Camp! Camp has held a special place in my life. I've been going to camp since I was six years old, and I have lots of memories there, from building a little fort in the woods my first year to raking my shin on a rock on the Seneca hike a year or two ago. This was my first year as a junior counselor, and sheesh, it's work! I really appreciate all the work you guys do to make this camp a place that kids love, and a place they learn a lot at too! When you're little, camp is so awesome; then you get older and learn to appreciate how much work is involved to make it cool. I'm glad I've gotten to know "the Redding group" more this year by working on the plays. Keep it up: it's good stuff. Deena - Foothills C of C
